Drug Addiction

Torn City Tip # 4 - Switzerland Rehabilitation
(Update from Andyman 12/16/14:  The information below is "pre-update." Xanax rehabilitation fees are now considerably lower than they were prior to the update.)

When taking highly addictive drugs such as Xanax, PCP, and LSD you run the risk of getting kicked out of the education course you are taking. TC Staff have provided an excellent guide to drug addiction that I recommend reading before taking these highly addictive drugs.

- Every time you take a drug, you have a random chance to overdose on the drug. Overdosing causes 2-5x normal addiction gain.

Drug Addiction % Gain
- Cannabis 0.2%
- Ecstasy 3.0%
- Ketamine 1.9%
- LSD 6.25%
- Opium 2.8%
- PCP 7.6%
- Shrooms 1.6%
- Speed 4.2%
- Vicodin 3.3%
- Xanax 11.2%

- Drug addiction also lowers employee effectiveness (3 stars instead of 5 stars) and may cost you your job!

- Drug addiction can cause a player to hit "the glass door" which causes a player to lose access to the gym.

- The Hermetic faction bonus decreases drug addiction gain by the following percentages:

- Getting kicked from education will occur when you reach 100% addiction gain. Therefore, it's best to play it safe by only taking 5 Xanax before traveling to Switzerland. (5 Xanax = 55.5% addiction gain, overdosing on a 6th Xanax could lead to being kicked from education since it could push you over 100% addiction. Also, I recommend traveling to Switzerland after any any drug overdose to reset happiness/energy/nerve.

- Drug addiction costs are totally dependent on the number of drugs taken in the past. For brand new drug users, erasing your drug addiction is relatively cheap. For those who have taken 2,000+ Xanax, erasing your addiction is going to cost you roughly $1M per Xanax taken.

- Having a private island with an airstrip lowers the amount of travel time to/from Switzerland to under 2 hours.

- Do not delete your drug-related messages in your Events until you rehab in Switzerland. Doing this will allow you to have a pretty accurate estimate on what your current addiction % is.
