Finding Items in Torn City

When you click a link from the City link, you have a small chance of putting an item out on the City click-able map to find. The items you find are totally random and have values that range from $5 to over $350,000,000. Needless to say, finding items can be a great way to get ahead!

- Higher awareness increases your chances of finding items. Increase your awareness by using Ecstasy or LSD, spending merits on awareness, working at a company that increases awareness (candle shop or fireworks stand) and by taking the PSY2680 education.

- There doesn't seem to be a correlation between happiness and finding items.

- There seems to be a limit of 2-city-link-clicks per hour for a maximum of 48 item-appearing-opportunities every day. Therefore, going through every link within an hour doesn't do you any good.

- The items seem to stay on your city map for a really long time. Therefore, going through the map and picking up the items every time you click the link isn't a very efficient use of your time, I typically let mine go for about two weeks before I "sweep" the map.

From personal experience, I've found clicking the City link to have roughly a 1/60 chance of finding an item with my zero-merits in awareness and all education courses completed. I have also yet to find an item worth more than about $50,000, but I remain hopeful for a rare artifact, or a stat booster such as a skateboard, dumbbells, parachute, or boxing gloves!
