Crimes

Torn City Crimes

There are several good Torn City nerve bar guides out there. I recommend using Knights Nerve Bar Guide if you are brand new to Torn City.

The nerve bar in Torn City is all about doing crimes to supplement your income. That being said, your ultimate goal is to gain enough crime experience to successfully do the 18-nerve hacking crime and make $250,000-$450,000 per success.

With regards to crime experience:

- There is no exact measure of your current crime experience other than your nerve bar which is measured in increments of 5.

- Busting players out of jail and completing faction crimes boosts your crime experience.

- Failing jail busts will not lower your crime experience. (It will still cost you energy)

- Failing crimes (red result) will decrease your crime experience, while unsuccessful crimes (brown result) will have no effect on crime experience.

- Successfully completing a crime (green result) will add to your crime experience. The amount of crime experience gained is based on the type of crime committed.

- The algorithm to determine a crime's success/failure is based on crime experience, but also seems to have a random variable in it. (Occasionally, you will receive a brown/red result on a crime you typically succeed in every time)

- There seem to be 4 crimes that have extremely good crime experienced associated with them upon success: Pick-pocketing the Businessman/Loan Shark (5 nerve), Thorough Robbery (7 nerve), Planting a Stealth Virus (9 nerve), and Warehouse Arson (11 nerve).

- There are 5 crimes that seem to have extremely high crime experience loss upon failure: Government Building Fraud (11 nerve), Stealing/Hi-jacking Cars (12 nerve), Pawn Shop Side Door (13 nerve), both Bombing crimes (17 nerve), and both Hacking crimes (18 nerve)

- Having a crime enhancer in your inventory will help you succeed in crimes. The crime enhancers can be purchased in the item market. A current list of Torn City crime enhancers is as follows:

- Using cannabis will slightly increase your crime success rate.

- There seems to be a correlation between happiness and crime success rate.

- Drinking bottles of beer is a cheap-effective way to increase your nerve on a daily basis. Drinking a bottle of beer will add +1 nerve to your nerve bar. Bottles of beer can be found in the item market or at Bits n' Bobs within the city. 1-hour is added to your cooldown timer per bottle consumed. More information about booster cooldowns can be found in Percy Jackson's Booster Information research.
